Instructor Competency Evaluation

Personalized and immediate feedback

The BCRPA Instructor Competency Evaluation (ICE) is a practical evaluation for Yoga Fitness Leaders. It may be part of the process for someone pursuing their first BCRPA registration, returning to registration after a lapse, or coming from another recognized training pathway, such as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT®).

The evaluation includes a written component and a practical teaching component. The written requirements vary depending on your pathway and previous training or BCRPA requirements. The practical component involves teaching a class for review and feedback, demonstrating your ability to create and lead a safe, effective and inclusive yoga fitness class.

My Approach

I offer Yoga Fitness ICEs in person because I believe this provides the best opportunity for success. Being together allows for immediate feedback, guidance and conversation throughout the process. It also creates space to clarify questions, talk through teaching choices, and make adjustments where helpful.

The goal isn't simply to complete an evaluation. It's an opportunity to demonstrate what you know, strengthen your teaching, and leave with a clearer understanding of your next steps.
