Workshop:

Balance In Yoga & Beyond the Mat

Improving the Older Adult Experience

Are you teaching yoga with older adults or others susceptible to falls?

At its core, independence means having full autonomy over one's own life. A fall can change that in an instant - regardless of age or ability. As we grow older, maintaining (and improving) balance becomes increasingly important for staying safe, stable and confident.

Every yoga pose requires some element of balance, but in many yoga classes, focused stability training is brief - perhaps a quick Tree, Lord of the Dance and/or Warrior III, and we move on. But is that enough?

In this comprehensive intense workshop, discover how our cues affect the class success, and why the "inside leg principle" aids stability, cohesiveness and confidence. Learn how we cue using a wall or chair can both help brace support or contribute to instability.

Explore how an extended balance practice contributes to longevity, empowerment, quality of life and more - especially in classes designed for older adults.

Watch for upcoming workshop dates.
