"Another piece of the yoga puzzle; I feel more connected." Susan W, Yoga Fitness Teacher

Easy Seated Sukhāsana
(soo-khah-suh-nuh)
Sanskrit (Saṃskṛta) is the language of yoga. It might look intimidating at first glance,
yet it is surprisingly approachable—especially when we discover how learning
just a little can add so much to the yoga experience.
This in-person workshop offers a light, respectful introduction to this ancient and influential language. Together, we'll explore how a basic understanding of Sanskrit pose names enriches our personal practice and creates a more connected experience for who share our classrooms with us. Discover an easy way to 'decode' common Sanskrit pose names (āsanas) that appear in books, and on-line, and spend time practice teaching learning to feel at ease connecting Sanskrit and tradition gently into the modern yoga classroom.
Spoiler alert: if you already say Śavāsana (shuh-VAH-suh-nuh) when inviting participants into relaxation, you are already teaching in Sanskrit!
No linguistical talent required. Just bring an open mind, a sense of adventure and your yoga mat.
